I would not recommend this for club players. My guess is that the target buyer of these sticks is a picky player that is apt to make modifications anyway, so it fits its role. With a little patience, these can be dialed in to provide one of the most satisfying hitting experiences ever. Queue the tungsten tape and modification tools (e.g., digital scale, balance board, swing weight machine, and the Racquet Modification app from TW University). The good news is that with a light spec and being on the light side of spec, the racquets can be fixed gracefully. For example, my first one came in at the proper weight, but the balance was 4 points more headlight than spec'd, and the swing weight was 20 kg-cm2 below spec. It's gorgeous.ġ) If made to spec, they need more weight in the head to satisfy advance player preferences.Ģ) I have yet to find one that's on spec. As an aside, when it is sitting on the shelf, it is the best looking racquet I've encountered in ~30 years:). However, it's not close to usable in off-the-shelf form. I thoroughly enjoy it's feel, comfort, and spin potential (good, but not exaggerated like a Pure Aero).
Great advanced players This racquet is a bit of an enigma. The fact that it provides extremely accurate targeting on your biggest swings is a nice bonus. Ultimately though, the Pure Strike VS does not put a lot of technology between player and ball, giving it the connected feel that many advanced player's crave. Additional features include Control Frame Technology, which adds flexibility to shaft in order to create a more stable and controlled response. Although the feel in the upper hoop is quite firm in stock form, this is easily corrected with softer strings, lower tensions and/or weight strips north of the 3/9 axis. Babolat has also widened the beam at 3/9 o'clock for added torsional stability. For 2022 Babolat updates the Pure Strike VS with a leather grip, giving it a more classic feel with greater ball feedback. Although this is one of the heavier models in the Pure Strike franchise the head light balance keeps it fast, making it great for whipping up spin, flicking shots on the run or staying active at net. As such, it offers outstanding command over the ball.
